Unveiling of a mural dedicated to Zofia Lipska in Lewków
On June 21, 2026, at 2:30 PM, the ceremonial unveiling of a mural dedicated to Zofia Lipska—a social activist, reformer, and one of the most significant figures in the history of Lewków—will take place in the village.
The mural is being created on the wall of a renovated bus stop as part of the project "Organic Work – The Heritage of the People of Wielkopolska." The project aims to disseminate knowledge about local proponents of "organic work" and highlight their contributions to the development of the Wielkopolska region.
Following last year’s commemoration of Wojciech Lipski—who significantly influenced the development of the Ostrów area during the first half of the 19th century—the organizers have turned their attention to Zofia Lipska for 2026. Although her work remained in the shadows for years, she was a figure of immense importance to both the Lewków estate and the local community. This year’s mural aims to introduce residents to her story and remind them of the role women played in the history of organic work.
The mural was designed by Konrad Moszyński. The project is being realized through the collaboration of the Lewków Museum, the Organic Work Trail, and the Municipality of Ostrów Wielkopolski.
The project received funding from the Self-Government of the Greater Poland Voivodeship.
We invite you to attend the ceremony and join us in discovering the history of the men and women who championed "organic work" in Greater Poland.
