The exhibition "Under the Eye of the Partitioning Power: Places and People of Organic Work" in Łódź!

On June 18 at 1:00 PM, we invite you to the University of Lodz Library for the opening of the exhibition "Under the Partitioning Power’s Watch: Sites and Figures of Organic Work." The exhibition tells the story of a quiet yet remarkably effective form of resistance. It illustrates the clash between the official perspective of the Prussian authorities at the turn of the 20th century and the tangible, long-term impact of the Polish elites' efforts. Here, we encounter the stories of individuals who—opting against dramatic battles and armed uprisings—chose to build the nation’s strength through "legal conspiracy." Encouraging the reading of the Polish press, supporting homegrown initiatives, and actively participating in community life were all actions that the Prussian state apparatus could deem subversive. The exhibition offers a unique perspective on the proponents of "organic work"—people who chose persistent grassroots effort over armed conflict. It invites reflection on the values that guided them: social responsibility, solidarity, and steadfastness of action. This is no ordinary history lesson; it is an inspiring tale of courage, social energy, and the power of everyday actions.
Embroidery workshops at the Museum in Lewków

The inaugural meeting of this year’s embroidery workshops took place at the Lewków Museum – Palace and Park Complex, made possible by funding from the "Organic Work – The Heritage of the People of Wielkopolska" program. This marks the third edition of the project, which focuses this year on English embroidery (broderie anglaise). Participants work under the guidance of Donata Kaczocha—a master of English embroidery and *snutka golińska* (a regional openwork style), and a specialist known for, among other things, recreating historical cap patterns. The project aims to preserve local traditions and facilitate the intergenerational transfer of knowledge and skills related to handicrafts. During the sessions, participants explore traditional embroidery patterns and learn techniques for working on delicate fabrics.
Quarterly Gatherings
Cultural Education on the Organic Work Trail

What are the Quarterly Gatherings? Every three months, we come together at the Palace in Winna Góra—the home of the Organic Work Trail—to explore how the stories, values, and ideas of the Organic Work movement can inspire and inform the world we live in today. What happens during the Quarterly Gatherings? Inspiration We revisit the lives and achievements of the people who shaped the Organic Work movement, treating them not simply as historical figures, but as sources of inspiration for the present day. Together, we explore new ways of telling their stories, reflect on the relevance of their ideas, and uncover lesser-known aspects of their lives and work. Relevance The principles at the heart of Organic Work—community engagement, grassroots education, equal opportunities, and a strong culture of work and responsibility—remain strikingly relevant today. During our meetings, we examine how these values can help us address contemporary challenges, from major social issues to the everyday realities of our own communities. Learning and exchange The Quarterly Gatherings bring together the diverse expertise of the Organic Work Trail community: educators, historians, regional researchers, cultural practitioners, social activists, entrepreneurs, and representatives of cultural institutions. Through workshops, conversations, and shared meals, participants gain new knowledge, develop practical skills, and exchange experiences. In the spirit of the Organic Work movement itself, we learn from one another, share our resources and expertise, and work collectively toward the common good.
