In the Footsteps of General Dezydery Chłapowski – Mural Unveiling in Śrem
On September 11, 2026, a special event dedicated to the legacy of General Dezydery Chłapowski and the concept of "organic work" (grassroots community development) will take place in Śrem. That day marks the official unveiling of murals at 19 Gen. Dezydery Chłapowski Street, part of the "In the Footsteps of General Dezydery Chłapowski" project.
The event begins at 11:00 AM in the auditorium of the Śrem Housing Cooperative at 7 Gen. D. Chłapowski Street.
The program includes:
a screening of the film *Towards Independence – Not Through Arms, but Through Organic Work*,
a lecture titled "Dezydery Chłapowski and Organic Work" by Dr. Emilian Prałat of the "Bonum adipisci" (Striving for Good) Foundation,
a presentation of the "On General Dezydery Chłapowski Street" window gallery,
a presentation of the "My Neighborhood – JEZIORANY" project, dedicated to the green spaces of the Jeziorany district.
Following the indoor session, at 1:00 PM, participants will move to the site at 19 Gen. D. Chłapowski Street. There, a tree-planting ceremony and the official unveiling of the murals will take place, followed by a walk through Jeziorany featuring quests from the #Zielonomi w Śremie (#GreenŚrem) series.
A stand offering regional tourism publications and plant-themed gifts will also be available for participants.

The project "In the Footsteps of General Dezydery Chłapowski" was carried out as part of the "Organic Work – The Heritage of the People of Wielkopolska" program, organized under the Organic Work Trail—an initiative coordinated by the General Dąbrowski Palace in Winna Góra.
